Leeward Mauka is inspired by the west side of Oʻahu, a place that holds some close memories of mine. This land has a presence you can feel, not just see. The mountains, the dry heat, the way the light hits at the end of the day, there’s a strength here that’s hard to explain but truly impossible to forget.
This piece represents that energy for me. The leeward side is raw and steady, and the mauka rise with a calm confidence that is both grounding and inspiring. Being there reminds me to slow down, to breathe, and to really notice where I am.
